First thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Spenser, Quinn & I returned last night from spending the holiday in Hermiston with Spenser's family. We always have a really great time when we make the trek out to eastern Oregon. We don't worry about messes in the kitchen, Sunday responsibilities, work, school, or myriad other life logistics that occupy us in Portland...we just go and recharge for a few days. Even better was the fact that Spenser's older brother Brady, his wife Amanda and their two kids Brady (7) and Berlynn (2) were able to be there, too. They are moving to Portland soon and we are STOKED about that! It was the perfect way to spend Quinn's first Thanksgiving. As you can imagine, Quinners is somewhat popular with her grandparents, aunts and uncles. :)

Three whole months.

Quinn reached the ripe old age of three months yesterday! We celebrated the milestone by enjoying the longest uninterrupted stretch of sleep any of us have experienced since she was born (11 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. ...thank you thank you THANK YOU baby girl!) and visiting the lactation clinic for a weight check. She currently weighs 12 pounds 12 ounces and measures around 25 inches long - long and lean, just like her dad. Quinn's disposition has undergone a huge transformation in the past month, which is super fun. She is smiling all the time now and occasionally giggling. She does, however, still sport her serious, concerned expressions. Yesterday on the elevator at the hospital, a four-year-old boy looked at her for a few minutes and then turned to his dad and said "Dad, that baby is so serious." :)

A little ladybug.

Here are a few belated photos of Quinners in her first Halloween costume! Full disclosure: We actually snapped these about a week after Halloween because I came down with a bad cold on the day of Halloween and didn't have the energy to do much picture taking. We at least managed to load her up and take her to the grandparents' houses to trick-or-treat. Yes, thank you - I am feeling much better and very relieved that Quinn didn't come down with anything.

Pumpkin patch.

Happy autumn! One item that was high on my list with the season's arrival this year was to take Quinn to a special pumpkin patch in Canby that we visited when I was a baby. I hadn't been there in decades, but I did remember that they have a cute little train called the Phoenix & Holly Rail Road that runs around the patch. The day we went, it was cold...REALLY cold (but not raining!). For most of the visit we had Quinn wrapped up against the wind and loaded into the carrier. When the train stopped at the pumpkin patch section of the farm, the conductor said that we could all get off and go pick pumpkins, and the train would loop back around in twenty minutes to pick us up. I don't think any of the three of us were going to survive twenty more minutes in the elements, so Spenser and I hopped off the train, ran over to the patch, unloaded Quinn, snapped a few photos, and ran back to the train before it could depart again! Hahaha. Gotta take advantage of those photo ops, right?
